Why Jim is running
Meet Jim
As a lifelong DuPage resident, Jim has been a pillar of this community, through his work on the County Board and coaching his sons in Carol Stream baseball.
Jim has represented District 6 since 1999, and chairs both the Stormwater Committee and the DuPage Water Commission. As Water Commission chairman he took an agency that had borrowed $80 million and left it debt-free with reserves, then negotiated the agreement bringing Lake Michigan water to the Village of Bartlett.
He is Vice-President of Service Stampings Illinois, a graduate of Elmhurst College, and has lived in DuPage County since 1971. He and his wife Katie have two sons, Jimmy and Tyler.

Law enforcement
Jim has always been among the strongest supporters of our law enforcement, working closely with them to make sure they have the resources they need as crime from Chicago reaches DuPage.
Taxes & consolidation
The County portion of your property taxes has held steady, and DuPage has become the state model for consolidating government. Seven units abolished so far, with more to find.
Stormwater & roads
Over $50 million in stormwater work at Beaver Pond in Bartlett, Armstrong Park in Carol Stream and the West Branch in Warrenville, plus the Warrenville Bridge replacement and the Gary Avenue rebuild.
Mental health & opioids
Earlier detection in our schools, training for law enforcement to recognize the signs, and public-private partnerships with hospitals to fund treatment before it becomes a crisis.
